We have created many websites for artists. Portfolio presentations made possible by Adobe Flash and many other applications provide a pleasing environment in which to view their art. However, I design many of my websites to include the capability for the artist to be able to edit content after the site is built. With portfolio sites built with the aforementioned apps, this was never possible as the artist would have to buy expensive software and take courses in how to then use same and was not willing to do so. We have recently found an application with which I can design and implement a website for an artist client which he or she can edit, add, change delete images remotely without the need for additional software. The only necessity would be access to the internet. The learning curve for editing with this new system is not pronounced whatsoever. Furthermore, this application automatically provides an interface whereby the portfolios can be seen on an iPad and an iPhone, (devices for which Flash content is inaccessible), inclusive of the same arrows, thumbnails and other functionality needed for navigation. We have developed and maintain a website for the city of Buffalo, New York and the surrounding communities that helps recruit volunteers for local, charitable organizations that need them. People looking for a rewarding, volunteer opportunity in Western New York may find one using our website and by searching by category, location or by the skills that they possess.
